Laboratory Objective

  • Mineralogical and chemical analyses of:
    1. Rocks, ores, minerals, soils and other solid materials (such as cements, mortars, ceramics and other industrial raw materials, industrial products such as building ceramics, etc).
    2. By-products or wastes from metallurgical processes or industrial processing (slag, fly ash, etc.)
    3. Inorganic components of lignites and their correlation with problems that occur in the operation of steam power plants.
    4. Fly Ash produced from the combustion of lignite in steam power plants and correlation of ash composition with environmental problems.
  • Investigation of physicochemical and technological properties:
    1. Determination of physicochemical and technological properties of industrial minerals and rocks, such as clays, bentonites, perlites etc.
    2. Analysis of microstructure (phases, texture, etc.) of materials produced by the transformation of raw materials in the industrial process of production of ceramics, cement, refractories and other industrial processing of mineral raw materials.
    3. Determination of melting temperatures of solid materials (lignite ash, biomass, organic residues, etc.)
