Mineral Resources Engineer, MSc, PhD.
Director of the laboratoty until 2020-2021 academic year Exadaktylos G. (Prof. NTUA).
Laboratory Objective
Stability analyses of underground and surface geotechnical and mining works (tunnels, rooms, slopes, drilling etc.).
Design of surface and underground exploitations of quarries, mines, lignite mines etc., by using commercial design software (Autodesk AutoCad, GEOVIA Surpac etc.).
Deposit modelling and calculation of reserves with the help of modern mining software (GEOVIA Surpac).
Design of underground and surface geotechnical excavations (tunnels, slopes, etc.).
Characterisation of the mechanical properties and wear of natural or artificial building stones (applications in monuments, buildings under renovation, etc.).

Drilling Resistance Measurement System (DRMS). Automatic system patented, produced and developed by SINT Technology. It is designed to measure the drilling resistance of stone materials (like marbles or other natural stones) and construction materials (like mortars and bricks). The DRMS can measure, penetration force, actual drill position, rotational speed, penetration rate.
