The MSc is offered to graduates of engineering and science Universities, graduates of Higher Military Educational Institutions, as well as graduates of departments from Higher Education Institutions of Technology (T.E.I./A.T.E.I.) with a relevant field of knowledge to the scientific area of the Programme. In addition, Erasmus+ students, are also accepted. For those coming from foreign universities, diplomas/graduates of equivalent categories are accepted, provided that the university and the diploma/degree is accredited by the Hellenic National Academic Recognition and Information Center (Hellenic NARIC).
The call for selection is made up to twice a year. The selection of postgraduate students takes into account the following criteria: general degree, grades in undergraduate courses relevant to the subject of the MSc, performance in a dissertation if applicable, possible research activity of the candidate and a proven very good knowledge of the English language. The Programme Coordinating Committee may request that postgraduate students be required to undergo a personal interview and/or an examination. A copy of a degree, a certificate of analytical grades, copies of English language qualifications, at least one letter of recommendation and a full curriculum vitae are required. Formal letters of acceptance are sent by the Departmental Secretariat and are valid only for the registration dates indicated in the letter.
Personal data information: We collect your personal data that you submit with your application for the purposes of the evaluation , your enrollment in the postgraduate study program in question and your participation in the educational process. We do not collect and further process personal data of a special category (sensitive) of Article 9.1 of the GDPR, such as health data. The processing of your personal data for the purposes of your evaluation and your registration, in addition to the collection of the supporting documents, includes the necessary control, the communication of the Department staff with you, the carrying out of the interview and finally the creation of a ranking table. The legal basis for this processing o is based is article 6 par. 1 b) of the GDPR, which concerns the processing required for the execution of a contract or for the actions required after your request and before contract. The legal basis for the processing of your personal data during participation in the educational process is article 6 par. 1 e) of the GDPR, which concerns the fulfillment of our educational task assigned to us and performed in the public interest. Due to the evaluation process, rejected candidates who have a legitimate interest and submit a legitimate application have the right to access your application file. We keep your supporting documents for 30 days after the selection board is finalised, after which they are destroyed. During this time you have the right to access your personal data and request to receive the relevant documents. Also, during your studies you have the right of access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and opposition of your personal data processing, which is not processed to create a profile. You can exercise the right of access in writing by submitting your request to grammateia<at>mred.tuc.gr. If you believe that your personal data or your rights have been violated, please first contact the Data Protection Officer of the Technical University of Crete at dpo<at>tuc.gr. If you do not receive satisfactory answers to your questions, you can submit a complaint to the Personal Data Protection Authority via the website www.dpa.gr.
