During their studies, postgraduate students are required to attend and successfully complete the postgraduate courses and to prepare their postgraduate thesis. A number of courses may also be offered at a distance, using appropriate teaching aids. The total number of credits (ECTS) required as a minimum for the award of the degree is ninety (90).
Each postgraduate student is required to attend six (6) courses, of which four (4) are compulsory for each specialization and two (2) are electives, corresponding to a total of 60 credit points (ECTS) and to complete a postgraduate thesis corresponding to 30 credit points. At least five (5) of these courses must be in the chosen specialization. If there is an objective need, the postgraduate student may take one (1) course from other MSc courses of the same or another HEI, upon request. In exceptional cases, such as partial attendance at a foreign university, mobility through Erasmus+, participation in a European or International University, the student may attend up to two (2) courses from other MSc, upon request, with the agreement of the supervising professor and approval by the Faculty Assembly.
Each postgraduate student is required to prepare an individual Master's Thesis. The topic of the thesis must be submitted to the Faculty Assembly at least four (4) months before the oral presentation and evaluation of the thesis. The Master's Thesis must be of a research nature, reflect the ability of the candidate to undertake independent and autonomous research work and constitute a contribution to scientific knowledge in the specific subject area of the candidate's research. The thesis should show that the candidate is aware of the relevant literature.
